The wife and I went to the jam arriving at about 10:40. My wife had some tech in her bag for “show and tell” but the security guy on the door wouldn’t let her bring them in. When I complained he refused me entry as well.
I hope the Jam goes (went) well despite the idiot on the door.

This is exactly what we’re hoping to change – this is one way in which the Forum is really helping us.

As someone under-18, pub meetups aren’t really the most suitable thing for people of my age, and one thing we’re really keen to do is attract more kids into 厕所小便尿8 Pi hence the venue.

But, if any of the old jammers want to come along and/or help out with the new jam that’d be great!

I’m involved in the Hackspace where there seems to be quite a bit of crossover with Men’s Shed.

You’re more than welcome to come along to the jam and get involved – we want to work together on this with any and all interested parties! If the Men’s Shed fancies having a stall to show off projects and ideas you’re more than welcome to.

Hi all,

I’m one of the organisers of the Norwich jam. When we were searching for a jam we couldn’t find evidence of anything post-2014, and so began to start our own.

So yes, I’m aware we’re not the first jam in Norwich, but we hope to be possibly longer-lasting than the previous jams perhaps. We are also aiming to have something more camjam-like, with talks, workshops, stalls and the like.

But really we’re keen to get all the enthusiasts together in one place – so it’d be great to see you there.

Most of the hard core of the old Norwich jams still meet 1st Fri of the month at the Coach and Horses on Thorpe Rd from 7pm. Why not come along this Friday and say “Hi”

@Nev_Young: Like you I remember past Jams in Norwich, back in the early days of the Pi. ISTR that Phil Howard (@gadgetoid) of Pimoroni fame was one of the organisers.

I’ve been to quite a few Pi jams in Norwich already at various venues. They started off well but soon it was the same half dozen guys who came along and so died due to lack of wider interest.

Damn, beaten to it. I have been planning to have a 厕所小便尿8 Jam in Norwich, through the charity Men’s Shed, later this year. We’re having an Open Day tomorrow (29 April) where I’ll have at least one or two Pi’s set up.

Men’s Shed is at 58 Pitt Street, near the roundabout next to Anglia Square.
