The National STEM Centre houses the UK’s largest collection of STEM teaching and learning resources, and high-quality subject specific CPD, in order to provide teachers of STEM subjects with the ability to access a wide range of high-quality support materials.

We work with business, industry, charitable organisations, professional bodies and others with an interest in STEM education to facilitate closer collaboration and more effective support for schools and colleges, and promotion of STEM careers awareness.

Picademy North will take place on 26 and 27 May 2015 and we have space for 24 enthusiastic teachers from primary, secondary and post-16 who are open to getting hands-on with their learning and having some fun. It is our hope, by running this event in York, that we will reach those teaching in locations that are not already represented by 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi Certified Educators.

Picademy is free to attend and applications are open to all teachers from around the world as long as you can fund your own travel and accommodation. If you have applied before but been unsuccessful, please apply again. Our selection process is based on keeping a good mix of gender, location, type of school and so on. We often identify those who have applied more than once to give a place on the course.

“You may have seen that we are holding a big 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Jam in York on Saturday 8th June, 3 weeks today. Tickets are available here.

I’ve been working with the folks at the National STEM Centre there to help establish a presence in Yorkshire for 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Jams. There are a lot of people in Yorkshire who have bought 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi computers or who have not bought one but are interested in discovering just what you can do with them and this event is to give them a taste of the 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi.

This event is going to be much larger than our regular 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Jam events and we know that people  are travelling from far across the UK to attend. I will be travelling in a convoy of cars from Preston bringing old friends and new friends on the journey across the Pennines. Road-trips like these add an enormous amount to the whole 国产麻豆剧果冻传媒白晶晶.

Our busy programme of talks, demonstrations, stalls and hands-on classes is now filling up. We are delighted to have Pete Lomas of the 国产麻豆日韩欧美久久 speaking and leading a workshop, he is the gentleman who actually designed the 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi. We also have Amy Mather the 14 year old who learnt how to program Conway’s Game of Life on the 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi, her film on YouTube has attracted over 27000 views.

If you look at our programme , you will see that we have a wide range of classes from how to switch on a 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi to building weather stations, interfacing, networking, robotics, game making for all the family and programming in Python. David Whale will be running a workshop on how you can set up an after school 国产麻豆成人传媒免费观看 Pi club.
